National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training
Under Homeland Security Presidential Directive 5, all public agencies must have NIMS in place as their emergency management system. NIMS is an all-hazards approach that works in any emergency situation with pre-designated responsibilities, the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions, render effective decisions and to work collaboratively with other systems.
Code Red Training makes NIMS easy for schools to understand and implement.
Our introductory basic NIMS training was co-designed by public safety and educators with a focus on the school setting. It covers the roles and responsibilities of emergency management for administrators, teachers and classified within the NIMS structure as well as illustrating how schools fit into the bigger NIMS picture.
Our training has received accolades in being on-point and readily understandable. Campuses can immediately begin building teams and conducting drills.

Why NIMS?
- Homeland Security Presidential Directive 5.
- In many states, if NIMS is not in place and used, districts risk the loss of reimbursement funds during a declared State of Emergency. The potential financial impact can be enormous.
- Schools and districts need NIMS in order to effectively communicate with other public systems. Otherwise, schools are at risk for miscommunication and chaos.

The Advantage
Years of successful training
Once the training DVD is purchased for a school for a one-time fee, the DVD and companion training materials may be used for future years without incurring on-going licensing fees. After the initial training, many clients show one or two components of the training DVD at their back-to-school in-service so that teachers and staff know their roles and responsibilities during an emergency for the upcoming school year, while others show the training as a refresher prior to an natural disaster drill or functional exercise.
The program is licensed to one school and is not to be shared (NDS/Confidentiality Agreement)
